For your consideration, a 1906 sterling box made by Samuel M Levi. The box could serve multiple purposes. The ideal purpose - as is - would be a small trinket box for small wedding sets or small necklaces. The box sits nicely on the shelf and the lid open easily for access to the contents. Frankly, given the growing number of states legalizing it, it would make the perfect desktop stash box for you finest cannabis.
The box lid does not latch. To use this as a carry case for pills, snuff or other such items, you will need to have the lid slightly modified to allow for a snap ball addition so that is secures in place when closed. Minor detail, easily completed by a competent jeweler.
The box measures as pictured 2 1/8" across by 1 3/4 deep by about 12.42mm high OD and an estimated 8mm ID height. The box is not monogramed and the lid has a nice etched design. The box is in good condition with various dings to include small corner dents, and dings on the bottom of the box.
Hallmarks and maker's marks are visible on the inside top and bottom of the box: Birmingham, British lion, date letter g for 1906 and S.M.L touch mark used by Samuel M Levi.
