Antique circa 1800's pocket watch case and works. Case has the Birmingham mark, I cannot make out the date letter. The case maker mark matches exactly a mark found between 1825 and 1828, but I cannot match the date code. Case is in fine condition showing age appropriate wear and tear and has a plastic aftermarket crystal. Would make a solid case for someone's watch works to be housed in.
The works are an old Fusee works. Someone has been into the watch works. Missing its cover, one gear just turns by hands - I have taken a photo of the gear I am referring to. Does not wind. Works are unmarked. I do not see a winding chain, please assume it is missing as I have not opened up the works. Does not comes with a Key, but one can be easily acquired.
Weight as pictured: 4.08 ounces
OD - Not Including Stem - approx. 49.13mm
Watch Works OD at Dial - approx. 43.10mm
The dial is a cream colored and has a noted hairline at the ten o'clock hour Hands are in good condition, I believe they were once gilded with losses.
