Antique Miniature English Setter Hand Carved in Bone With Black Spots
What an interesting antique highly detailed hand carved miniature English Setter dog in the pointer position. Carved in bone, this miniature sculpture is a small work of art with fine detailing to the bone to create a wonderful look that is finished off with hand painted charcoal colored spotting throughout. This old English Setter is most likely Asian in origin, but is unsigned. The piece measures about 1 3/8" across and about 5/8" high give or take. Some residue is no the side of the piece that I have left in place.
This item was part of a vintage & antique dollhouse & miniatures collection I have been liquidating. The collection was started in 1916 and I simply don't know when the last piece was added to the collection. The earliest known piece in this collection dates between 1825 and 1850.
This item is sold as liquidation and sold as is, as pictured, no return.
This item condition is overall good condition.
