A beautiful, and rare, hand tinted photograph by Adolphe Braun which is part of his series Costumes de Suisse from circa 1869. The Canton of Appenzell, Switzerland features an attractive young lady standing on rock pathway wearing a fancy lace fan hat and holding a stick. She posed in front of a mountain scene with what looks like a church in the background. She is wearing a dress and hat typical of the area.
The photo card measures approx 8 1/8" x 6 3/8" with the actual image sizing being about 6 1/4" x 4 1/2". I believe the photograph is of French origin and use the albumen silver print technique.
