Lovely Victorian Era Hand Painted Floral Swallow Wood Stamp Box 19th CenturyPlease do review all of the photographs as they are of the actual item you are buying.
What a lovely example of a stamp box from the Victorian era. The box measures just under 3 5/8" long, 1 3/4" deep and about 1 1/4" high. Some minor paint loss that does not detract from the beauty of the piece. The birds in the Victorian era represented the woman and were frequently set in floral scenes or nesting - caring for young. This is a lovely example. Some wear around the corners at the foot and the little wood slips and inserts are loose as would be expected of old glue giving way.
