Vintage c1940 Japanese Satsuma Brooch Gold Gilding Garden Scene with Bird Signed
Uncleaned, unpolished vintage c 1940 Japanese satsuma brooch. Pinback is marked with the patent number 2066969 which was applied for in 1935. In 1937 the application was approved with US Patent number US2066969A. The piece was either produced pre WW2 or post WW2. This came out of an estate in western Canada.
Crazing to the satsuma. Possible stain on the bottom, though it could be highlighting to create a land line. The mark is difficult to make out, some losses to the gilding along the edge of the metal showing a white metal under it. Could be silver, but it is untested.
